An 11-year old boy from Massachusetts has published a book explaining how Bitcoin works. Andrew Courey wants everyone to be able to understand what the industry is really about.

If there’s a will, there’s a way

The name of the book is “Early Bird Gets The Bitcoin: The Ultimate Guide To Everything About Bitcoin” and consists of 57-pages. Courey considers himself a Bitcoin expert. It should come as no surprise that Courey self-published a book on this technical industry since his father is a tech investor. Courey enjoys maths and working on mobile apps. He loves to think about business ideas and actually came up with the concept behind Glassdoor for referees. It’s a website that grades officials. The idea for Glassdoor for referees came after a referee who made a foul call, upset Courey and he suggested the idea to his father.

He came up with the idea of writing a book on Bitcoin in 2017 and has a goal of earning $20 million by the time he turns 14. He even has an agreement with his parents that he can drop out of school, should he have that amount when his 14 years of age. Courey has spent hours (after school of course) researching Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as well as mining. However, it was his dad, Jeff Corey who gave his son the idea to write a book.

How Bitcoin works

The book gives simple explanations of the history of Bitcoin, wallets, Ethereum and Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs). He makes use of real-world comparisons to explain technical concepts. One example is Courey’s explanation of a private and public key which he compares to keys of a mailbox. He writes that a mailman can bring the mail to a specific mailbox but only the owner of the key to the mailbox can get the mail. He ends each chapter with a “fun fact.” Overall, it took him three months to compile the book which is published on Kindle.

Courey owns a total of .00222 Bitcoin as well as some Ethereum. Courey has more tricks up his sleeve and is planning on releasing a mobile app with math flashcards. He plans to sell it at a profit that would earn him that $20 million.
